Local Outreach

Serve on behalf of Good Shepherd with one of our trusted partners and help meet the needs of people in our own backyard.

Opportunities

  • Arrowood Mobile Home Community

    This ministry is looking for people who are interested in helping with senior citizens, soccer ministry, Spanish ministry, student tutoring and bible studies. This is an on-going partnership reaching both children and adults. .

  • Nursing Home

    Join us in blessing the residents of Mecklenburg Rehab with Bingo, socializing and prizes for all. We serve on the first Saturday of the month (holiday adjustments) from 9:45 AM – 11:30 AM at Mecklenburg Rehab on Sandy Porter Road. Appropriate for individuals and families with children 8 and older. We also serve on the second Saturday of the month with a variety of activities like crafts, music and Bible study.

  • Samaritan's Feet

    Samaritan’s Feet serving on the 2nd Saturday of the month is great family fun for kids 8 and older. Sort or repackage shoes to be shipped to children world-wide and in the Charlotte area.

  • Rebound Lunch Serving

    We are back in person to prepare and serve lunch at the Rebound Men's Rehabilitation on the first Saturday of the month. We meet at 9:30 AM at the facility and we are currently limited to 10 volunteers.

  • Dove's Nest Dessert Donations

    We provide desserts to the ladies at the  Dove’s Nest Ladies Rehabilitation Center on the first Saturday of the month. Dessert donations can be dropped off in the church front office lobby from 10:30 AM to 11:15 AM on the first Saturday of the month.

  • Dove's Next Lunch Serving

    We are back in person to prepare and serve lunch at the Dove’s Nest Ladies Rehabilitation Center on the first Saturday of the month. We meet at 12 pm at the facility and we are currently limited to 6 volunteers.

  • Room In the Inn (seasonal)

    Room in the Inn partners with local churches to house people struggling with homelessness in our community. Good Shepherd hosts neighbors on Friday night/Saturday morning during the colder months of December through March.
