Shelter From the Storm
Because of your incredible generosity, Good Shepherd raised $706,823 with every dollar going directly to hurricane relief in western North Carolina. What began as a bold dream became a miracle far beyond our Challenge, Victory and even Miracle goals. Together, we showed what the Church can do when we give as one. Beyond giving, we sent 13 short-term missionaries to Barnardsville, NC with City of Hope to rebuild homes—constructing decks, fences, and repairing storm damage. Our people also helped pack 1,500 hygiene kits to support ongoing disaster recovery efforts across the U.S.

Short-Term Missions
In 2024, 95 people said “yes” to God’s call to serve on a short-term mission. This year, missionaries were deployed to Guatemala, Kenya, Kentucky, Tennessee and western North Carolina. Our teams had incredible impact with the communities in which they served and the name of Jesus continues to be spread both in our country and around the world.

This year, Good Shepherd partnered with Arrowood Mobile Home Community to host soccer parties/clinics, a backpack/school supply distribution event, a shoe distribution event and a Thanksgiving meal bag distribution. This large and diverse community is right around the corner from our church on John Price Road and feeds directly into our local partner schools (Lake Wylie Elementary, Southwest Middle and Olympic High).

OneCon
In September, 164 middle and high school students came together for two nights of worship, teaching, games, food, breakout groups, silent disco and more! This was an incredible event where students were encouraged to invite their friend to attend as their “one” and culminated a year of teaching about being the “one” to their friends and family.
-
VBX
In June, we brought back the highly successful “Family Style” Vacation Bible eXperience where families learn about Jesus together! More than 136 families and 96 volunteers came together for a “Live it Out” VBX experience learning about how we can live out the words of Jesus and love like him everyday!

Beautiful Marriages
-
Grace Marriage Launch
In November, Good Shepherd launched the new Grace Marriage program that invites couples to enrich their marriage over the course of a year. On November 15, 138 couples gathered in two environments for 3 hours of learning, laughing and listening. Good Shepherd will host 4 Grace Marriage date events each year.
-
re|engage Marriage Enrichment Course
In 2025, 78 couples went through the 15-week re|engage marriage enrichment course, culminating with a vow renewal ceremony. This has been a wildly successful program at Good Shepherd Church, both in connecting couples to each other and in boasting an increase of 41% in marital satisfaction. re|engage is hosted twice a year in the spring and the fall.
-
Merge Pre-Marital Course
We recognize that a focus on Beautiful Marriages means helping couples start off on the right foot BEFORE they get married. In 2025, 12 engaged/seriously dating couples completed an 8-week experience that helps them address common challenges from a biblical perspective in a fun and authentic environment. Merge is offered twice a year in the spring and fall.
